“Mother : Remixes” marks another important step in the new phase of Echoberyl’s artistic journey. Over the past year, the Parisian duo has seen an explosion of fans, sales and streams on every platform.
The first single from the 2021 album, “Salomé”, is Top10 all-time best selling on Bandcamp minimal wave chart.

Echoberyl’s tracks are now played by DJs such as techno superstar Ellen Allien, underground icon Yami Spechie and more than 180 others around the world.

This release is the natural extension of the “Mother Solitude” album featuring four new remixes by Adriano and Cecilia, a foray into European dark techno with Steve Object, a lovely version of “La Dame en Rouge” by New York DJ Cage, plus two songs that weren’t included on the 2021 album just because they didn’t fit the “Dark Tales” concept perfectly.

“Mother Solitude and Other Dark Tales” is the first album of a new phase of Echoberyl’s artistic path. A collection of dark tales with strong, touching, terrifying, sensual, dangerous female protagonists.

The album is enriched by two extraordinary collaborations: “Before Night Falls” is written with Antipole and has his guitar as the protagonist, “The Siren and the Ghost” is sung by Cecilia and the suave Gloria de Oliveira.

The first single, “Salomé”, has been an instant hit debuting at #1 on Bandcamp Darkwave, Minimal Wave, Goth and EBM “New and notable” charts and played by more than 100 DJs all around the World on the first two weeks.
The second single, “Mother Solitude”, also debuted at #1 in 5 Bandcamp charts.

The Awakening of a Mutant Girl is a Sci-Fi B-movie without images that tells a story of marginalization and hope. It is about overcoming personal fears, the desire to escape and a declaration of otherness. The story of a girl who turns out to be a mutant from another planet wanted to be, at the beginning, a metaphorical tale but, during the eight months of work on the album, private tragedies and dramatic world events made Echoberyl decide to change a large part of the music. The result is an album very different from their previous work, more heartfelt, more electronic, more eclectic.

The Awakening of a Mutant Girl is conceived and written as a tribute to B-movies, especially sci-fi movies from the 50s and 60s, but also inspired by the work of the graphic novelist Enki Bilal and movie directors such as Yann Gonzalez and Michel Ocelot. Each song corresponds to a chapter of the story. Step by step a path of liberation is revealed.
